Back-to-Back Wins Put HWPO in Championship Round

Saturday morning started like any other tournament day — cleats, sunscreen, and a team huddle before first pitch. But by Sunday evening, the boys had done something they hadn't done all season: punched their ticket to the championship round with back-to-back wins against two of the toughest teams in the bracket.

Game one set the tone. Our pitching was sharp from the jump, and the defense behind it was as clean as we've looked all year. We didn't give them anything for free — not a walk, not an error that hurt us. It was exactly the kind of baseball we talk about in practice. By the fifth inning it was clear we were in control, and the guys stayed focused all the way through the final out.

Game two on Sunday was a different story — tighter, grittier, and a lot more fun. We fell behind early and had to battle back, which is where this team showed its real character. Down two runs in the fourth, the lineup came alive. Back-to-back hits, a huge two-run single, and just like that we were tied. The dugout was electric. We went on to win it in extras, and the celebration after the final out is something these kids will remember for a long time.
